Cardiac Imaging allows physicians to look at the heart and its functions with minimal risk to the patient. Cardiac imaging is key to the diagnosis and treatment of all cardiovascular diseases. Cardiac imaging is done primarily by two different methods, Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT), each with its own advantages in the fight against heart disease.
A Cardiac CT scan uses a computer to create digital images from multiple x-ray images. The result is a cross sectional view of inside the patient’s body. It allows a high resolution view of the coronary arteries, great arteries and veins.

Cardiac MRI uses no x-ray exposure to the patient, magnets and radio-frequency waves are used instead. This produces both still and moving images of the heart and cardiovascular organs in high quality.
