Dr Sarah Moharem-Elgamal graduated from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt in 2003. She is non-invasive cardiologist with an interest in advanced imaging, inherited cardiac conditions and adult congenital heart disease. She finished her doctorate degree and is registered in Egypt as a consultant in 2016.
Education and certification has been the centre of her activities during the last few years. Being an instructor for the Egyptian Cardiology Fellowship for 6 years, allowed her to train and mentor colleagues from around the world for the past 9 years.
In 2016, she was awarded an ESC Grant and has successfully mentored and guided colleagues to successfully receive an ESC or EACVI grant. In Egypt, Dr Elgamal organised the first EACVI/ Society of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (SCMR, USA) endorsed and Society of Cardiac Computed Tomography (SCCT, USA) co-sponsored level 1 CT and CMR workshops.
She is currently serving as ESC’s EACVI Certification & Accreditation Committee Member and Heart Imagers of Tomorrow Committee Member for 2018-2020. I was named the International Out Reach Champion by SCMR for 2017. She has been invited as faculty to different ESC and EACVI meetings: ESC 2017 and 2018 annual congresses, ICNC 2017, and EuroEcho 2016, 2017 & 2018.
Her research interests are CMR, CT, inherited cardiac conditions, structural heart disease and adult congenital heart disease. Recently, she was excited to be invited to be an Emerging Editorial Consultant for JACC Imaging and a Reviewer for the European Heart Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging and for Frontiers in Cardiology and Paediatric Cardiology.
