About The Event

Welcome to our British Medical Imaging Course in Norway for Radiologists, Reporting Radiographers, Trainee Medical Practitioners and Researchers from across Scandinavia, UK, Europe and beyond.

Join us Summer 2023 in Oslo for our five-day Imaging course covering a range of MSK, Abdominal, Neuroradiology, Breast Imaging and Emergency CT/Trauma cases. Based at the luxury resort of Scandic Holmenkollen Park, enjoy a week exploring local lakes and the city of Oslo, or just relax in the spa, pool and gym, all included to make the most of a week away.

This jam-packed CME event will host speakers from across the UK, as we share cases and expertise across a diverse range of pathologies. With cases reviewing MRI, Ultrasound and some CT, you can choose to join us for the full event or on a specific day(s) of your choice.

You’ll learn in an open and friendly face-to-face and environment, as we welcome those in training or newly appointed, through to fully qualified and experienced practitioners.

Confirmed speakers/topics include:

Monday - Abdominal Imaging - With Dr Joanna Brown (Consultant Radiologist  and International Committee RCR)

Starting off Day 1 we'll review Imaging of liver, small bowel and MRI of biliary tree finishing with an interactive session – challenging cases and discussions before lunch. For the afternoon we'll review paediatric cases, gynae imaging and MRI prostate imaging, followed by a final interactive session to finish the day.

Tuesday - MSK Imaging - With Dr Julian Chakraverty (Consultant Musculoskeletal & Sports Radiologist at University Hospitals of Bristol)

For day 2, we'll focus on a range of MSK MRI cases with a range of sports injury sessions including MRI Back Pain, a look at the Knee meniscus and ligaments

and MRI Rotator cuff. After lunch, we'll review MRI Ankle - the ligaments, MRI Muscle injury and finish off the day with MRI Sports Injuries - a case-based approach 

Wednesday - Neuroradiology - With Dr Jozef Jarosz (Consultant Neuroradiologist/co Director Neurosciences Institute, Kings College, London)

We'll begin our Neuro Imaging day with a review of Key Brain Anatomy and Brain Tumour Basics followed by a Stroke session considering what is important in acute interpretation, A seminar on Epilepsy and cortical developmental abnormalities will then take place before lunch, with Structural imaging of aging, neurodegeneration and dementia following our break, Finishing the day, we'll review Head Trauma-pearls and pitfalls and take a look at Degenerative spine Imaging cases.

Thursday -  Breast Imaging - With Dr Willam Teh (Northwick Park Hospital, London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust & Director of Screening, North London Breast Screening Service)

Beginning our day with a  Breast screening update including a special review of high risk screening, we'll then review a range of breast biopsy techniques and interpret results before a Tomosynthesis update. Just before lunch we'll review cases on Contrast enhanced mammography (CESM), followed by reviewing a range of Breast MRI and seeing what the future holds with a final seminar on AI in breast imaging.

Friday - Emergency Radiology - With Dr Georgios Antoniades (Consultant Radiologist and Vice President of BSER -British Society of Emergency Radiology)

To finish of our week we'll take a look at The polytrauma patient; how we scan and the importance of the primary survey, and also review the secondary survey in polytrauma. We'll review a range of cases in the 'The bleeding puzzle' sessions and finish off the day looking at general ER cases ; what not to miss.

This course offers up to 30 CPD/CME Credits can be claimed in accordance with the CPD Scheme of The Royal College of Radiologists.
