Course overview

We are pleased to host our Autumn 2024 Cardiac CT Level 1/2 course (leading towards BSCI/BSCCT and SCCT accreditation) in Essex, UK.

The course follows the BSCI and SCCT guidelines for level 2 accreditation, and over 5 days will include formal lectures and hands-on training using Circle cvi42 on workstations.

Key highlights

Join our bi-annual UK Cardiac CT Level 1/2 Course this November.

Teaching and hands-on training will be led by Level 3 accredited BSCI (British Society of Cardiovascular Imaging) trainers and led by our clinical lead, Dr Azhar Khokhar (Consultant Cardiologist, Head of Cardiovascular Imaging, Essex Cardiothoracic Centre) with the faculty including a mixture of consultant cardiologists and radiologists all with BSCI accreditation.

The course follows the BSCI and SCCT guidelines for level 2 accreditation, and over 5 days will include formal lectures and hands-on training using Circle cvi42 on workstations.

The course includes analysis of a total of 150 contrast enhanced cases, including coronary analysis of various pathologies, bypass grafting and extra cardiac findings etc, as required by the BSCI. Complemented by formal lectures, you will cover all relevant topics and examples of rare and interesting cases shown.

After completion of the course, you will be expected to perform and dual report 25 cases in your local settings before applying for level II accreditation.

For this course, there will be a maximum of 2 attendees per workstation, and we will keep the numbers attending in-person to a maximum of 30 to increase learning potential and allow you to feel comfortable with asking questions in the small intimate group setting.  As a result, early booking is essential. Each candidate will have the opportunity to see live scanning.


LEVEL 1 COURSE DETAILS

Cardiac CT Level 1 attendees will just attend the first 3 days of the course (Mon – Weds ) in order to complete the 50 cases required for Level 1. You will cover additional cases on top of the 50 needed to provide as much opportunity to learn from a wide variety of cases as possible.

18 CPD Credits can be claimed in accordance with the CPD Scheme of The Royal College of Radiologists


LEVEL 2  COURSE DETAILS

If you are looking to gain your BSCI Level 2 certification and be confident in reporting Cardiac CT independently, this Level 2 course if perfect for you. This course also contributes towards the 200 cases required by SCCT but please do check the SCCT accreditation guidelines for further information on their specific requirements.

35 CPD Credits can be claimed in accordance with the CPD Scheme of The Royal College of Radiologists


 

 

Accommodation

Accommodation is not included in the cost of the course however all refreshments and a 2 course lunch each day.
