About The Event

Welcome to our British Medical Imaging Course, to be held in back in Australia for the first time since the pandemic.

Suitable for Radiologists, Registrars and Radiographers, we'll bring a week of Imaging updates, hosting specialist speakers from across the UK with specialist seminars also provided by Radiologists from Australia and New Zealand.

Join us in 2024 in Sydney for our five-day Imaging course covering a range of MSK, Abdominal, Neuroradiology/Head & Neck, and Breast/Gynae Imaging updates as well as Emergency Radiology.

This jam-packed CME event will host speakers from across the UK, as we share cases and expertise across a diverse range of pathologies. With cases reviewing MRI, Ultrasound and CT scans in relation to Trauma, through to Oncology, you can choose to join us for the full event or on a specific day(s) of your choice.  With day tickets also available, choose to join us for Imaging updates to suit your availability and specialism.

You’ll learn in an open and friendly face-to-face and environment, as we welcome Radiologists in training or newly appointed, through to fully qualified and experienced Consultants looking to refresh their expertise.

Programme Days to include

Abdominal Imaging with Dr Joanna Brown, Senior Consultant Radiologist in the University of Bristol, UK

Starting off Day 5 we'll review Imaging of liver, small bowel and MRI of biliary tree finishing with an interactive session – challenging cases and discussions before lunch. For the afternoon we'll review paediatric and adult abdominal emergencies as well as abdominal trauma – when and how to image, followed by a final interactive session to finish the course.

Neuroradiology with Professor Paul Parizel, David Hartley Chair of Radiology, RPH & UWA, Perth, WA, Australia

Join the previous president of the European Society of Radiology (ESNR) and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the European Society of Radiology (ESR) for a day of Neuroradiology updates including Neuroimaging in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury, Acute Stroke and MR Imaging in White Matter Diseases. With further sessions on Understanding Susceptibility-Weighted Imaging (SWI) and an update on diffusion-weighted and diffusion-tensor imaging (DWI & DTI), we'll also take a look at Artificial Intelligence and Quantitative Imaging in (Neuro)Radiology before ending the day with a Case -Based Neuroradiology session

Head & Neck Imaging with Dr Salmon Qureshi, Consultant Head & Neck / Neuro Radiologist at SSMC / Mayo Clinic Abu Dhabi

Join us as we review Imaging in facial trauma, Temporal bone anatomy, CPA / IAM tumour and Imaging in hearing loss. After lunch we'll have a session on Radiology of vocal cord palsy, followed by Larynx and hypopharynx imaging and a Review of oral cavity imaging

Women's Imaging (Breast/Gynae Imaging updates)

We'll begin our day with a range of Breast Imaging updates, led by Dr Vanessa Atienza-Hipolito, Clinical Director and Specialist of Breast Imaging and Intervention at Women's & Breast Imaging (WBI), Cottesloe. Seminars will consider practical approaches to diagnosis and biopsy and review Dense Breast cases in addition to an MDT session. After lunch we'll then focus on Gynae Imaging with British Imaging expert Dr Joanna Kasznia Brown, who'll provide case based sessions reviewing MRI imaging of ovaries – benign, malignant, or borderline? and Imaging of uterus and cervix. 

MSK Sports Medicine and Rheumatology Imaging (morning)

Join Senior Consultant Radiologist/ MSK Specialist from Mercy Radiology to view a range of Musculoskeletal Sports Injury Imaging sessions combined with a Rheumatology imaging update - looking at peripheral and axial spondylarthritis.

Emergency Radiology (afternoon)

Our afternoon sessions will be dedicated to Emergency Imaging, specifically refreshing case knowledge in regards to Thoracolumbar spine Trauma, Diaphragmatic Traumatic Injuries,  and Bowel and Mesenteric Trauma.

This course offers up to 30 CPD/CME Credits can be claimed in accordance with the CPD Scheme of The Royal College of Radiologists.
