MSK Ultrasound a Huge Success for JCA

JCA Medical Seminars conducted their popular musculoskeletal ultrasound course for the first time in over 12 months after the Covid-19 pandemic forced the business to take their medical seminars online.

Hosted by the Quy Mill Hotel in Cambridge for our five-day hands-on course, we welcomed the globally recognised medical diagnostic equipment company, Esaote as an integral partner to deliver the highest quality practical scanning during each seminar.

Day 01: Presented by Alok Kashyap, MSK Sonographer and Advanced Practitioner in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. The first day of our course involved comprehensive presentations and practical demonstrations of the shoulder. Attendees were greeted on the day with eight high-quality ultrasound machines from Esaote and the ability to practice ultrasound techniques for much of the day with the continued support and advice from expert, Alok.



Day 02: Presented by Dr Shouvik Saha, Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist with demonstrations on hand and wrist ultrasound techniques, we were delighted to additionally welcome day delegates from the surgical and osteopathy field. With an in-depth look into the functioning of bones, joints, tendons and ligaments, as well as the irregularities of these features, the attendees we able to network with professionals from a wide variety of medical backgrounds for a hugely successful day two of the course.


Day 03/04: Presented by Jon Scrivens, Consultant Sonographer for a day of interventional ultrasound, attendees were able to perform and practice injections with ultrasound guidance using advanced, conventional methods. Looking at hernias for day four of the course, our delegates were able to fully grasp and recap their knowledge on lumps and bumps ultrasound.


Day 05: Presented by Consultant MSK Radiologist, Ali Zavarah conducted a lower-body ultrasound presentation followed by an afternoon of demonstrations and practical sessions on the knee, foot and ankle. The last day of the course, many were able to build on their skill set and network with those from around the world to put a brilliant end to a fantastic week on our MSK Ultrasound course.
