Vass Vassiliou
Prof Vassiliou is a Professor of Cardiac Medicine at the University of East Anglia and honorary Consultant Cardiologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. He studied medicine at University College London and then completed his cardiology training in Cambridge and a PhD in CMR tissue characterisation with an emphasis on aortic stenosis at the Royal Brompton hospital and Imperial College London. Having trained as a multimodality imager, he now focuses on CMR. He has an active research group using CMR as an endpoint in cardiovascular and interventional studies as well undertaking population outcome research. He has published more than 200 papers and elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and Fellow of the Society of Magnetic Resonance.
