Course overview

Join our Cardiac CT for Radiographer’s Course as we support Radiographers in preparing patients for Cardiac CT scans. A key course for those new to Cardiac Imaging, this course is also available virtually/on-demand for international access.

Key highlights

This Interactive study day for Radiographers will review a range of Cardiac CT cases with expert tutor, Elizabeth Van Lingen of Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. Choose to join us, or on-demand, with tickets available to Radiographers and Technologists from Australia, New Zealand, and beyond to watch back in their own time.

Suitable for Radiographers who are new to preparing patients for Cardiac CT, as well as practitioners looking to refresh their knowledge, our one-day course will cover a range of cases, providing in-depth knowledge of the important factors influencing the quality of cardiac CT acquisition.

We’ll discuss protocols and techniques to ensure that you are getting the best possible images, whilst looking at real-life example cases, to broaden your best practice. Sessions include a refresher on cardiac anatomy, as well as ECG principles, common clinical indications, and essential protocols in patient preparation. In addition, we’ll discuss the role development of Radiographers in Cardiac CT and how to further develop the very best Cardiac CT service to support positive patient outcomes.

In addition, you’ll be guided through a range of Cardiac CT cases with Dr Robin van Lingen, Consultant Cardiologist at Cornwall Cardiology and Duchy Hospital, as part of a live case review session.

Faculty Lead: Elizabeth van Lingen – CT Advanced Practitioner and Cardiac CT specialist.

Liz qualified as Radiographer in 1997 and has specialised in cardiac CT since 2006. She developed the cardiac CT service at her trust in 2019 implementing ‘radiographer-led cardiac CT lists’. Liz supervises her own Cardiac CT lists and much of her work focuses on the training and competencies of Radiographers wanting to upskill in this area. Having completed a postgraduate certificate in CT and currently working towards her Masters she is passionate about education and training underpinning service quality.
