About The Event
Our in-house Cardiac CT Level 1 training course can be delivered at your hospital/online over 2 or 3 days, on dates to suit your availability. With supervised hands-on training led by Dr Azhar Khokhar, you’ll be supported and supervised by trainers who deliver our Cardiac CT Level 2 Training Courses worldwide.
Reviewing 50 cases hands-on using GE Healthcare virtual workstations, our BSCI Level 3 certified Consultants will take you through CTCA studies covering the basics of cardiac CT interpretation, including non-contrast studies.
Consideration of scan protocol, patient preparation, and study acquisition will be discussed whilst analysing each study independently before discussing diagnosis with the group.
We’ll report all 50 cases looking at scan indication, method of acquisition, findings and total dose-length product. A minimum of 25 of these cases will also recorded in detail in a logbook that will need to be submitted with your Level 1 application.
Within this course, we will cover the equivalent to 8 hours of cardiovascular CT related CPD including:
- Technical principles of cardiac CT and its application to imaging the heart
- Different gating techniques, their advantages and limitations
-Radiation dose inherent in cardiac CT as well as dose reduction strategies.
- Contrast kinetics, administration, contraindications and complications
- Cardiac anatomy and physiology as applicable to CT
- Techniques of image reconstruction and post-processing
- Techniques to minimize and reduce image artefacts
- Cardiovascular risk assessment
- Current indications and applications of cardiac CT
- Normal anatomy of the heart & thorax
As a result of this Cardiac CT Level 1 training course you will receive a Certificate of CME for 18 CPD hours with a Course Director Letter indicating the 50 cases analysed along with 8 CPD hours of content covered.
