Chest X-ray Interpretation Course

This one-day Master Class in CXR Chest Reporting offers Reporting Radiographers and Radiologists, through to Nurses, ENP’s, ANP’s, Junior Doctors, Radiology Registrars, Physiotherapists and Emergency staff, a thorough overview of Chest Imaging Reporting, to increase your confidence in CXR interpretation.

We'll kick off the day by taking a look at the basics, specifically lines/tubes, followed by an update on bones and soft tissues. We'll then take a look at The pleura – effusions and pneumothorax, followed by an interactive reporting session with image reviews, looking at a selection of real-life cases and how to report.

After lunch, we'll review lung consolidation and collapse, before moving on to a dedicated session looking at Heart failure. We'll finish off the day reviewing masses, emphysema and hyperinflation.

By attending this course, you'll develop a systematic and structured approach to X-ray interpretation, and feel more confident in your anatomy and abnormalities as a result.

This course is taught by Nick Bithray, Consultant Radiographer based at The James Paget Hospital, and Robert Milner, Consultant Radiographer at the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. Between them, they have over 20 years of formal teaching experience on short courses, study days and at UK universities.

Our study days have the ultimate goal to better support practitioners and clinicians, whilst also enabling management and clinical leads to meet operational and strategic targets in improving the quality of patient care within the NHS and beyond.
